As a salon owner of 17 years that had 12 girls and now have my own suite of his is what i say if you properly price your services you don’t need to count on tip . I don’t take tips and strongly stand against it

I try to explain this to people all of the time. This is not what they meant being an independent Salon person. We are paying rent and overhead products. We are paying everything and doing your hair. Yes that tip is for us. The payment is to keep the overhead going.

The vast majority of people in the service industry are working hard and doing it all themselves. Tips are an aspect of appreciation for luxury services, across the board.

Thank God business owners in Europe can do the math and we don’t have to deal with being asked for tips everywhere
